Trump removes US National Security Advisor Waltz in first major shakeup of new administration

US President Donald Trump on Thursday named Secretary of State Marco Rubio as acting national security adviser, replacing Mike Waltz, who is stepping down following a leak scandal involving a Signal chat that disclosed details of US air strikes on Yemen. Trump said he would nominate Waltz to be the next US ambassador to the United Nations.
