The tournament’s leading scorer Maddox Schultz — who had two hat tricks in the first three games — had two goals and three assists in the win, while Eli Johnson also had a five-point game with two goals and three assists.
And it was Johnson getting things going for Regina in the first period as he scored near the end of the frame to make it 1-0 Pat C’s through 20 minutes.
In the second, Johan Sivertson got his first of the game before Johnson and Schultz scored to make it 4-0 after 40 minutes.
In the third, Sivertson scored his second of the contest before the Rockets scored their only goal of the game to make it 5-1. The Pat Canadians then closed it out with goals from Nathan Gardiner, Schultz and Brodie Bowen while Taylor Tabashniuk made 18 saves for his third victory of the tournament.
The Pat Canadians will now get set for a first-place showdown against Quebec’s Chevaliers de Levis — who are also 4-0 — in the final round robin game on Friday at 12 p.m.
While both teams have already secured a semifinal spot, the winner will secure top spot in the division and a date with the fourth seed in the semifinal, while the loser of Friday’s game will take on the third seed.
